Change is constant, and in today's interconnected world, understanding and navigating this change is imperative. This is why we developed the Actor-Based Change Framework, a practical and pragmatic tool that helps teams understand and navigate the complexities of how change happens. The tool has since been used to help design and evaluate programmes across many different themes and geographies. However, beyond the original paper in the American Journal of Evaluation, there is not a lot of guidance on how to apply the framework.

We are therefore thrilled to announce the launch of our new website to fill this gap: ActorBasedChange.com !

Here's a little about what you can expect:

  1. Guidance section coming soon - The Guidance section will walk you through each step of the ABC Framework. We're still working on this section, so please check back later for clear guidance that will give you a solid understanding of how the framework can be used to design a programme theory of change.

  2. Dive Deep with Resources - For those looking to dive deep into the ABC Framework, our Resources section will be a treasure trove. Start with the original paper published in the American Journal of Evaluation in 2020, or read a less theoretical brochure detailing the framework's core steps. Please feel free to share relevant resources to be posted on this page, via the contact form in the About section.

  3. Real-World Applications - The strength of a framework lies in its applicability. To showcase this, our Case Studies section highlights real-world applications of the ABC Framework across diverse contexts and geographies. These stories underline both the challenges and benefits faced when implementing the framework, offering a holistic view of its practicality.

This is just the start of the journey. We're excited for you to join us in advancing the practice of making sense of complexity!
