Change is constant, and in today's interconnected world, understanding and navigating this change is imperative. This is why we developed the Actor-Based Change Framework, a practical and pragmatic tool that helps teams understand and navigate the complexities of how change happens. The tool has since been used to help design and evaluate programmes across many different themes and geographies. However, beyond the original paper in the American Journal of Evaluation, there is not a lot of guidance on how to apply the framework.

We are therefore thrilled to announce the launch of our new website to fill this gap: ActorBasedChange.com !

We're still working on this section, so please check back later for clear guidance that will give you a solid understanding of how the framework can be used to design a programme theory of change.

Start with the original paper published in the American Journal of Evaluation in 2020, or read a less theoretical brochure detailing the framework's core steps. To showcase this, our Case Studies section highlights real-world applications of the ABC Framework across diverse contexts and geographies. These stories underline both the challenges and benefits faced when implementing the framework, offering a holistic view of its practicality.
